Leaves: Opposite, simple, 1-2 in dark green leaves

Flowers: White or rose clusters

Flowering Time: From winter through spring

Habitat: Swamps, bogs, wet pinelands

Wetland Indicator: Obligate Wetland

Origin: Native to the U.S.
